Life is ever changing and chaotic in our household but we are holding on for dear life and enjoying all the bumps in the road by saying "woohoo!" as we go :)
We have decided, as most of you know, to have LaVon separate from the Air Force this year. This is a very exciting and nervous breakdown enducing decision! LaVon is moving forward with his career as he uses his bachelors degree which is nice to know we didn't go through school for nothing. It is a huge payoff to be able to say that he can make more out of the Air Force than staying in and the timing couldn't be more perfect as the military is threatening to take away many of the added benefits of being active duty (such as the 100% coverage for health insurance, and the basic allowance for housing). we will be able to purchase health insurance coverage to extend for our family for 3 years once he seperates and that will allow us to have the in between times covered, which is a huge relief. Deciding where we needed to be once he seperated has been ever so stressful. There are so many thing to consider.... like job openings, job salaries, taxes, costs of moving, stress of moving right after having a baby, deaf education options for caylinn, medical specialist for caylinns needs, etcccc.... it has been so hard because we really want to move back closer to most of the family but it really didnt make sense in all of the other categories.... we even considered moving to OH as they have more job opportunities and had the stuff for caylinn but we atill didnt feel like that was the right place...... the moment came when we sat down and looked at our finances and what the next year holds and the reality of being tied to owning a home here...... we knew that the right answer was to stay put here in maryland for a couple of years and then relocate when we would be a better financial place and be able to break free from our mortgage without being under water and not stressing over renters..... maryland will be our home for a while until we can confidently move away from here.... as weird as it sounds a lot of peace has come from this saddening decision.... but we now have something to work towards and know that we will eventually get to move away from this place. It will be nice not to have to pack up and move anywhere right after the c-section for this baby and we wont have two homes to pay for which is a HUGE relief! The kids can stay put and we can get settled in for a while. We do plan on visiting vegas as soon as we can and as often as we can. We love you all so very much and wish that we could escape from reality and adulting to come do what we want, but reality and adulting are a must especially with 4 kids now depending on us.
Cyle has so bravely decided to try public school again. It has been so fun having him home and teaching him but I couldnt push aside the feeling that i was holding him back according to the first grade standards. My worst fear is him falling behind because we decided to homeschool. Also he has a huge fear of new teachers because of a bad experience he had with a substitute teacher in kindergarten..... I felt he needed to know that not all new/ different teachers would be as mean or rude as that one particular substitute teacher. Today is his first day back so we will see how it went when he gets home. Cyle seemed to be very excited and nervous this morning.
Caylinn enjoyed her holiday break from school but was very excited to go back to see her teachers and friends at school. She is our routine girl and thrives on repetition.
Cali decided to walk the day aunt jenn came into town to visit. Little stinker and she gave snuggles away to aunt jenn daily .... those are special and far and few in between but she was sure to do it several times a day with aunt jenn! She is our little parrot and loves coloring with markers! She has offically started to only take one nap during the day which is so nice!
Baby c is doing good and is due at the end of june. Knowing my babies, we are expecting it to arrive end of May beginning of June. We will find out the gender in the beginning of February so stay tuned!
