The Romero's

So just got back to Athens after a really fun week at the Salmon's. Playing with the kids and seeing how they have grown was awesome. We played lots of games, ate lots of food and I for sure learned some new signs from Caylinn (so fun when she responds meaning that I actually signed correctly), I also got to help celebrate Cyle's birthday (yeah cake and ice cream). Thank you to Joy for braving three kids in going downtown DC to visit the Hard Rock Cafe (Aaron likes his shirt you helped pick out). A big thanks to Lavon for staying up for New Year's with me playing Skylanders (so fun). And last a thanks to Cali for walking while I was there as well as all the snuggles (sorry Joy). Glad the Salmon's are only 6 hours from me so that I can spend my week off between Christmas and New Year's with them doing all these fun things.

Aaron held the fort down in Athens while I was gone and it was a bit more complicated this time around. We figured out that the water line between the meter and our house was broken and needed to be fixed, and of course we discovered this at 3:30 pm on Christmas Eve. The city came and turned the water off until we could make arrangements to get the pipe fixed. We were able to get a hold of a plumber on Christmas Eve who came out on Saturday the 26th to dig up some of the side yard and fix the broken pipe. Thankfully we only went a couple of days without water to the house and Aaron was gracious enough to take care of all of this so that I could still go on my trip.

As for other things that kept us busy I have repainted the upstairs bathroom to a light yellow color and we also painted our room a light lavender color (Aaron let me pick the color). We have picked a couple of projects to work on this year both inside and outside of the house.

  3. I'm so jealous you got to be with the Salmons. It sounds like a good time was had by all. Grateful you could make the trip safe and sound. I'm sure Aaron and the Kitties were very happy for your return. That's no fun with your water. Especially the inconvenience and the $$. Glad it is behind you. Looking forward to a great 2016.
